Dr Karastergiou’s specialisation is Intercultural Intimate Relationships as well as Intercultural Parental Upbringing. She has written her PhD Thesis on this subject as well as a few books “Ode to Alterite”, ‘Post Babel’ etc.

About the Counselor and her interest in cross-cultural issues
Many people seek counseling with Dr Karastergiou for her ability to speak Greek, English & French combined with her life experiences in different countries. She was born and raised in Greece. She has also lived, studied and worked in Canada (Montreal, Toronto). and France (Paris) for almost 20 years. She stays in Paris a couple of times a year, where she offers sessions and workshops. Experiencing different cultures has been an important part of her life path, since she has been given many opportunities throughout her life to travel and diaglogue with people in many places across the globe.
Ever since she was young, she has been fascinated by cross-cultural issues. What does a person experience internally and externally when encountering a different culture? What unique characteristics each culture has? How does one’s native language, culture and land influence his/her psyche? What is the right approach to facilitate understanding between people from different cultural & linguistic backgrounds? Over the years she has conducted numerous researches across Europe on intercultural communication, intercultural relationships, bi/multi-lingual & bi/multi-cultural parental upbringing etc. She has attended a lot of seminars, courses, conferences, workshops to learn facilitation work for diversity issues.
All people share universal issues and common grounds as human beings. At the same time, many people living in multi-cultural situations & working with Dr Karastergiou have commented that they feel understood by her because of her intercultural experiences. That her direct experiences and knowledge in different cultures had been the essential factors when choosing her to assist them.
